The History of the Diesel Engine

Invented during the Industrial Revolution by a man named Rudolf Diesel. Rudolf studied thermodynamics to create a smaller, internal combustion engine that could convert all heat into work. The diesel engine became revolutionary against the steam engines of the 19th century. In 1904 the French army began using diesel engines in their submarines and eventually were used to power factories, marine crafts, trucks and more.
